Fire, smoke, injury or anything that feels unsafe: get people out and call 911.

Follow your building's emergency plan and the fire department's direction. Don't silence or reset the system unless the fire department or your alarm company tells you to.

Call 911 if anyone is hurt or in distress, then your elevator service company. Don't try to force the doors or move passengers out yourself.

If it is safe, follow your building's shutoff procedure and call your fire protection or plumbing vendor. Stay clear of water near electrical equipment.
